McQ Inc. is looking for coop and intern candidates to join its design team to work on research and design (R&D) projects. Candidates may be available during the summer, spring, fall, or combination of semesters. There are no requirements for major or year of study, however computer engineering, computer science, and electrical engineering majors are preferred.
Experience with C/C++ programming is required, while experience in other programming languages (C#, Java, Perl, HTML, PHP, Matlab, and assembly languages), database experience, digital design (Verilog, VHDL, or ABEL), hardware design experience (analog circuits and digital circuits), or signal processing experience is preferred.
The actual projects that each intern is assigned is based on the candidate's experience, interests, and availability at the time of employment. Tasks generally include: development of software applications, field testing, embedded programming, software testing, system testing, circuit troubleshooting, and circuit design.
Candidates should expect to work in a team enviroment, yet handle the responsibilities of completing individual assignments. Good written and oral communication skills are important, and these skills will be used throughout the candidate's position with McQ.
A security clearance is not required for a coop or internship position, but candidates should have the credentials to possibly obtain a clearance.
